Ham
Parsnips
Carrots

Roast potatats
Mash potato
Pigs in blankets
Stuff in balls
Gravy

Christmas pudding and brandy sauce

That is the food for one Christmas? Seems like a lot.
I’m not sure yet what we’ll have. Certainly not that much.

We’ll have a good amount of family over but we’ll still just do fondue with beef and some sides. Probably some kind of dessert. That’s it

we italians go big on christmas eve AND christmas day. the christmas eve meal is traditionally known as the feast of the seven fishes. so there’s quite a bit of seafood involved, obviously.

christmas day we usually have a mix of italians foods and other typical christmas food like turkey, roast, mashed potatoes, various veggies, etc etc.

oh and wine…lots and lots of wine 😂

Here we have pork ribs with white sausage, sauerkraut and potatoes. It’s quite fat, which we neutralize with a shot or two of aquavit (for those who are old enough to drink it, obviously).

Lots of family around, lots of different foods. But usually starts on 24th with fish, then soup (my grandmother usually makes cream eel soup for christmas), then lots of vegetables (mostly root vegs and winter leaf things like kale) with strips of beef. And my grandmother usually makes advocaat (kind of like a really thick eggnog but no cream/milk… just eggs, sugar, and brandy) but mostly the old people drink it. Then on christmas day and second christmas day (boxing day for you UK people) there are just lots of meets and veggies and stuff all over the place and we have two days of people coming and going and talking and eating tons of food and drinking a lot lol. We don’t do presents like Americans do, the two days of christmas are all about family and food and drink. The brandy and beer and conversation tend to flow freely.

Usually we have baked ham shoulder, sweet potato casserole with marshmelloe toping, several different vegetables, assorted chips and dips, and a variety of drinks.

Christmas dinner for us is similar to Thanksgiving, but we usually have ham instead of turkey. And my family always makes tamales and other Mexican dishes, since my dad is from Mexico and we have relatives who bring their own stuff, like pozole and bunuelos.
