I don’t know how widely it is known in the world, but shortly before Christmas there was an attack on the Christmas market in Magdeburg. Victims are 4 women, between 45 and 75 y.o. and a 9-year-old boy.

Gosh, that’s terrible. It’s horrifying the lengths that people will go to to show their beliefs and the acts of cruelty they will commit. Does anyone know if there is anything we can do?

Alot of problems in the world seem to be because of it 😕 terrorist activity because they believe its what their God wants, the existence of Palestine to separate Jews and Muslims (and other conflicts in the area, and lots of other examples through history), rape and abuse by religious leaders, hatred of gays and women rights (still not exactly equal in all countries) and probably a lot more

It will all probably soon be forgotten about again anyway like it always is 😥

I think that would help. There is quite a lot to how we come to be where we are, though.

There is a fairly fundamental difference between “The West” and the Arab world with differing attitudes to sex, women and various freedoms.
Most religious people peacefully co-exist with those from other religion. This is made easier when there is less migration, but even those in foreign lands are generally peaceful. A few extremists spoil it for the moderate majority.
The Middle East seems to be a hotbed of trouble that has gone on for a long time. It doesn’t help that the Russians and the USA use the middle east as a kind of war by proxy with the USA backing Israel and Russia the Arabs. This practically guarantees that there will be asylum seekers.
In the West, better education and more people finding fulfilment from things other than child bearing has resulted in a low birth rate, yet the way we run our economy relies on growth so despite many people in the West wanting to limit immigration, few Western governments have any serious intention of doing that.

BlackParadePixie The guy who ran down those unfortunate people in New Orleans was an American citizen who was born in Texas. He even served in the U.S. Army and was dischared honerably. He is a Muslim. Somehow he must have been radicalized by reading ISIS posts online and viewing their videos on YouTube. The FBI and local law enforcement now have determined that he was a “lone-wolf” and not connected to any other radical organizations when he carried out his attack. He wasn’t on any law enforcement list of known terrorists. That made it difficult to stop him before he carried out his attack.

I am not going to get into the politics of the “Illegal Immigration” problem now plaguing the USA. But this guy wasn’t an immigrant.
