so, there’s a guy i’m talking to who is in year 10 (9th grade for americans) while i’m in year 11 (10th grade). I’m tueinging 16 next month, while he’s 15 until may. Am I gonna be an absolute pedo if i date him? Is the age gap ok? it is literally only one year group, and im only 2 years older than him for like 2 months but idkk, anyone else been in a similar situation?

It sounds like you’re only four months older if you’re turning 16 next month and he’ll turn 16 in May.
In any case, even if you’re a year and four months older, there’s def no problem. And being only one grade difference makes it even easier.

Do you live in a culture where this kind of age difference, especially the girl being older, is looked down upon?

If Partner B’s age is more than Partner A’s age divided by 2 plus 7 then its fine

Age is not something that concerns me anymore. I’ve been with boys and girls younger and older.

My first girlfriend was several months older than me, so there was a time during our relationship when she was 18 and I was 17, and I made jokes about it being a scandal. I don’t think she thought I was as funny as I thought I was 😅

But I would only be wary about an age gap if one partner is several years older. Differences of months are not concerning. A person in their 20s dating a teenager, though, that is a red flag.
