So I was out in the desert last weekend with my 2015 Jeep Wrangler and everything was fine until I tried to engage 4Lo. The light started flashing and wouldn’t stop, then I heard this grinding noise when I made a tight turn on the sand. I put it back in 2Hi and drove home carefully, but now the 4WD light comes on randomly even on the road. A buddy said it could be the transfer case position sensor or maybe the shift cable came loose. I’m worried it’s something internal like the chain or the fork. I need to find a shop that actually knows how to diagnose transfer case issues on the JK instead of just throwing a reman unit at it. I’ve been looking for a Competent Transfer Case Mussafah specialist that can scan the system, check the fluid condition, and maybe drop the pan to inspect for metal. Has anyone had a flashing light and grinding and found it was just a faulty sensor or a linkage adjustment? Also wondering if low fluid could cause these symptoms. The car has 130k km and I’ve never serviced the transfer case. Any recommendations for a shop in Mussafah that won’t overcharge would be amazing. Really hoping this isn’t a full replacement. Thanks.
