Apparently yes they are the best candidates (and we in UK think a similar thing about our politicians 😕)
They did get selected as candidates, so either the better alternative didn’t want the chance, or the alternatives are worse
And it’s not really 350 million (or even 350) who have the chance. I don’t know enough about how someone can be president, but I guess it’s similar to ours, so would need lots of money (to do advertising, to pay for being a candidate, to afford to live will spending time campaigning) and need a lot of people to support your ‘party’ or just you if being independent was ever possible. So the reality is your not voting for one person, your voting for everyone who funded them, or gave them support, who are probably after their own agenda for doing that
