Where I live (Switzerland) we opened a debate in class. What motivates a person to vote for Trump in the USA. The idea is not to criticize but to have a constructive discussion. If anyone is interested, we can open a discussion here.

Through our media in Europe, we get the impression that his strategy is to criticize and release enormity that activates the emotions of voters who no longer seek to be critical of the content.

He’s a criminal, a rapist, a woeful businessman and serial cheater who can’t stop lying He’s got no policies and just doesn’t want to go to jail so is happy to be the project 2025 peoples puppet He’s dangerous People only want to vote for him because he allows them to be their worst selves - you can be ignorant, racist, rude… if the national leader can why can’t you? And they vote for him out of fear about his lies about immigrants and because they think because he’s rich he can save economies despite his business models often relying on milking things, taking the money and filing bankruptcy (That’s what I learned in school, we did the same topic lol - but it checks out)

I think it’s a pretty good analysis. A little rough but good. I think we can unanimously say that it is dangerous for democracy.

He is openly sexist, and uses social media and tv to throw accusations without any proof. Most of them are completely silly but people believe them. Trump alone is not a danger. The half of the americans who worship him are.

Because using social media and people’s internet history it’s easy to find out what people care about, and target advertisements to those topics Trump doesn’t need to be good, he just needs to make his opponent sound worse. Basics of politics now it seems

Taking advantage of an hurting population desperate for change, someone who goes against the establishment living in a two party system. Add the history of racism of the US and that it is an highly religious country it’s not hard to see how he was able to scam a large enough portion of the electorate.

Some people seem to have such loyalty to their party that they will vote for anyone. There was a joke in the UK that certain people would vote for a chimpanzee if it wore the right coloured rosette. But I have also seen posts on-line from people who have said that Trump is so unsuitable as a president that they have reconsidered their allegiance. But I also think Trump has been tapping into people’s prejudices and saying whatever they want to hear in the hope of being elected, unconstrained by either evidence or what he has said on a previous occasion.

Exactly Trump has no policies… probably not even “concepts of” policies He’s just trying to stay out of jail and will lying and evangelize to his poorly educated sheep

Fascinating points, but I’ll say this. The candidates on both sides are terrible and that fact is undeniable. The population of the United States is approximately 345 million people. The two running are the best they have? One is a diabolical human being and the other couldn’t find her way out of a cardboard box and was installed without process they have in place in that country. Think about that for a moment … it is gross. All empires throughout history have fallen. I suspect it is the United States turn and either one of these clowns fits the bill to help the process along.

Since I am too young vote, I tend to stay out of politics , our country is not longer a great nation and will leave it at that

kyle07 I don’t see any Nazis marching with swastika flags marching in the streets of my town or any other cities and towns in the USA since the election. What I have seen though is anti-semetic protestors carrying Palestine and Hamas flags calling for the destruction of Israel and Jewish students. This sems to me to be the Nazis that you are referring too. After all Hitler did call for the destruction of Jews everywhere with his “Final Solution of the Jewish Question”.

Trump has been impeached so many times, I don’t think it bothers him anymore. Maybe he even thinks it’s one of those weird formal political traditions that doesn’t make sense to him. So it’s probably like with unwanted gifts: It’s not the gift that counts, but the intention behind the gift.

I wish them good luck impeaching Trump anyway.

Zwaga While it’s true Trump was impeached twice (B. Clinton was impeached once), the former was acquitted both times.

Lily They can’t impeach Trumo under Amendment XIV, section 4 because Trump was never indicited, tried or convicted as an insurrectionist. However, Trump can pardon himself, if he chooses, from any federal offenses on or after January 20th. All presidential pardons and commutations are absolute and cannot be reversed by the courts.

Tomioka I don’t think that Canada will ever merger into the USA to become the 51st. state. But more mutual cooperation on both sides would be very helpful for both countries. Both China and Russia are very active in the Artic Ocean which requires that the USA and Canada prevent any incursion by these countries in a regions that’s very important for both our security. I believe that Trump was just trying to intimidate Trudeau by calling him “Governor”.But now that Trudeau has resigned as PM that’s mute.

😂 try living in the UK (and probably Norway) Russian planes, boats and submarines practically live in our seas. Which is why he says he needs to take Greenland (even though there’s a joint US and British base already controlling the region)

BJade With regard to Greenland, I really don’t think the Greenlanders would vote to join the USA. I heard a news report by the Greenland PM who said that the Greenlander want to vote to become an independence country from Denmark. Once Denmark gives them independence they will cooperatte with the USA for their mutual security. Trump won’t take Greenland by force. The Congress and the American people will not allow invading Greenland. He won’t take Canada or Panama by force either.

Adolf Hitler wanted to control the world and look what happened to him! As for NATO, the alliance is essential for Western security. But what Trump wants is not war with NAto. He wants each NATO country to pay it’s fair share to maintain NATO as a strong force against the Russian and Chinese aggression.

Ashley Actually, the Democrats had the majority in the Senate in both 2020 and 2021.
Interestingly, Clinton was acquitted by a Republican majority in the Senate.
In any case, he was acquitted. That’s really the only point.
